The World Golf Hall of Fame inducted six new members last night in St. Augustine. I am happy to report my friend Carol Semple Thompson was among the new inductees. Her accomplishments in Women's amateur golf are legendary and I doubt will ever be duplicated. I have always had a deep respect and affection for Carol.
I was lucky to be introduced to her at the "Sally" when I first started playing golf. (Each year my home golf course, Oceanside CC, holds the "Sally" golf tournament - Women's Southeast Amateur Championship. The "Sally" is a prestigous golf tournament given that nickname by John D. Rockerfeller.) It was obvious from observing and interacting with Carol that she was someone I would want to emulate on and off the golf course. Thanks, Carol, for being such a good example!
I attended the World Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony last night and it was absolutely magical. The night was perfect: clear, crisp, and cool. The backdrop and setting where gorgeous and the speakers were impressive. It is interesting to hear personal stories and jokes from some of the game's greats. It was special feeling to be surrounded by so many people that love golf and have accomplished so much in the industry and in the winners circle.
After the ceremony there was a gala inside The World Golf Hall of Fame (golf museum). Yes, it was an extremely special night for Carol and a very memorable evening for me.

I recently played in the LPGA T&CP National Championship in Pinehurst, NC. The tournament was held on Pinehurst #8 course. I finished 13th at the tournament and I feel my game is coming together. It is a good feeling when you know all your practice is starting to show and when you have that gut feeling that REALLY good finishes are around the corner.
Going back to Pinehurst was a real treat for me. I used to play the North & South Amateur Championship every year on Pinehurst #2. I have so many good memories from those tournaments: the friends I made, all the good shots I hit, and all the hours I spent on the humongous putting green.
This year has been all about getting back to my playing form and falling in love with golf again. My trip to Pinehurst definitely aroused my inner love for golf!

I hope you all are playing well and loving your golf:) Tiff

After long 9 months, I have begun to play tournament golf again. I had to completely stop playing for 6 months because I found out that I have a broken bone in my back that will never heal. When I first found out, I thought golf would no longer be an option for me. Luckily, I rested up…and have been treating the area as best I can. Being away from golf made me miss it. I started working at my game again, although not in the maniacal way I used to .
I went and played in a Canadian Tour event in Canada, the Colorado Open, and the Washington Open. All were great events and I am really glad I went. I didn't perform quite as well as I wanted to but at least I made some sort of check in each one. The first event in Canada was weird since I hadn't competed in so long. I was definitely rusty but I felt like I did many good things and the next two events would be better. Unfortunately, I got a violent case of food poisoning in Denver one night before the first round. That was the first time I had food poisoning and hope it is the last. It really kicked me on my butt…I was really weak but I wanted to play. In hindsight in may have been a mistake…but I made it through. The lingering weakness lasted through Seattle.
So even though I wasn't at my best, I think it was the best trip I have ever been on. I made a number of new good friends and the beauty I saw in the last three weeks was jaw dropping. I met John Snyder in Vancouver, Canada. John offered to caddy for me and he was fantastic. John had a great personality and was very positive on the golf course. We had a great time and he just made my trip to Vancouver that much better. The Colorado Open was set up like the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am where the professionals are paired with amateurs. I was lucky enough to get paired with Tom Lawrence who is an excellent golfer and even better person. His son Elliot caddied for me and I think we could be related. We had the same sense of humor and that is sort of scary. I don't ever remember laughing as much on a golf course. Tom and Elliot thanks for everything and I promise I will not eat at Outback next year and will play better:) That is the wonderful thing about golf…even if you don't perform the way you want to; often times you meet special people along the way that will be in your life forever.
I'd also like to extend a special Congratulations to Tom and Elliot for winning the Father Son Tournament today at Pole Creek Country Club in Winter Park, Colorado. Great Job!!! You guys deserve it:)
I am putting a link below if you want to check out some of the pictures from my trip. Spectacular is all I can say…oh and the food in Vancouver and Seattle is fantastic!!

Golf season is in full swing again and it may be time to update your golfing wardrobe. For all the ladies out there, I recommend that you check out Tail. I have been wearing Tail outfits for years. The garments look great, are comfortable, and travel well! I honestly can't say enough good things about Tail clothes. (They make tennis garments too.)
I recently did a photo shoot for Tail. Here is a link to some of the pictures from the shoot http://picasaweb.google.com/TiffanyFaucette/TailShoot2008

I went to the Carlsbad, CA in the beginning of April to visit the Fujikura factory. I went to Fujikura to go through their fitting process to find shafts to optimize my performance. The whole process was very good and informative. Thank you Pat McCoy for taking so much time with me and for helping me out.
When you go to the Fujikura Factory they measure all the lofts and lies of your clubs - they measure every club spec you can imagine and log it all in a computer and then burn it on a disk for you to take when you leave. All in all, it was the most comprehensive fitting process that I had been through.
When I was done with the fitting, I wanted to check out something around Carlsbad. A friend of mine, Rosalina, had told me about the Flower Fields. I am so glad I went. The flower fields are only open from March to May - basically when the flowers are in bloom. Wow, it was quite a site seeing so many flowers. I can honestly say it was one of those moments when you feel so special to be alive and to see such a site. I went to the top of the field and looked across the flowers out to the Pacific Ocean. It was superb.
If you are ever in Carlsbad when the flowers are in bloom, I recommend taking a couple of hours to stop and smell the flowers. It is well worth it. I know it energized me!
