A few weeks before the start of the season, I had a flare up of tendonitis in my left hand. There is never a good time for tendonitis or any injury for that matter. I am happy to report that the swelling is completely gone and I am 100% again. However, I decided I would have to change some of my practice habits just to keep the tendonitis at bay.
I did some research and found the Bionic Glove. The Bionic Glove was designed by a hand surgeon and was made to reduce hand fatigue and increase grip strength. I was a bit sckeptical at first, but then I got them and they do work. If you have ever had any had or wrist issues I would recommend that you get a pair to practice in. That is what I use mine for. I really do feel like my hand is more supported in the Bionic Glove versus a regular glove. The only thing I wasn't crazy about with the gloves are that they are a little thick feeling but with some use they thin out and feel pretty good. I was informed by Bionic Glove that they are coming out with a new thinner glove for more competitive players. I am really looking forward to that. If you want to check them out: www.bionicglove.com
If you are like me, I am not a huge fan of playing in the rain. It is difficult to keep your equipment dry and that results in twisting golf clubs during the swing. Well, fret no more. I got a pair of the MacWet Gloves at the PGA Show. The MacWet Gloves are rain gloves that help you keep a grip so secure that you feel like your glove has been vacuumed sealed to the grip. These gloves were used by some members on the Ladies European Solheim Team during the Solheim Cup in Loch Lomond, Scotland. There were huge downpours that week and the European side won the matches, many say the superior rain gloves they had were a big part of their success. www.macwet.com
